Porky Pig -- page 3


PORKY PIG doll

  This is a 14" stuffed cloth doll of Porky Pig, who has a plush head, plush arms, plush tops to his feet, and glued-on plastic eyes.  He wears a red ribbon around his neck, a turquoise felt vest, and a pink body suit.  This doll was manufactured by Gund in 1970 along with a few other Looney Tunes character dolls.  Porky retains his original manufacturer's label, which is in nice condition and attached to his left hand, and his original cardboard hang tag, which is worn but intact and affixed to his left arm.  The doll is in near mint condition, with light play wear.

PORKY PIG bank -- by tree trunk

  This is a 4.5" metal bank showing Porky Pig standing with his hands together behind his back, beside a tall tree trunk.  The coin slot is located on top of the trunk and the original metal stopper is present beneath the rectangular green base on which Porky stands.  This item was manufactured during the 1940s by Moss Metal.  It is in near mint condition and is one of several characters and variations made by the company at that time.

PORKY PIG bank -- by barrel

  This is a 4.5" pot metal bank showing Porky Pig standing with his hands clasped together, behind his back.  He stands beside a barrel, which is the bank.  The coin slot is located on top of the barrel and the original stopper is missing.  This item was manufactured during the 1940s by Moss Metal along with several other variations and Looney Tunes characters.  Porky is in EX condition, with a few paint chips on his cheek, bowtie, and barrel being the item's flaws, along with the missing stopper.

PORKY PIG pencil holder -- by washtub

  This is a 4.5" pot metal pencil holder (or paper clip holder) showing Porky Pig standing with both hands clasped together behind his back, beside a washtub.  This item was manufactured during the 1940s by Moss Metal along with several other variations and other Looney Tunes characters.  Porky is in EX to EX+ condition, with a few small spots of minor paint loss and some general wear inside of the washtub being the item's only flaws.

PORKY PIG pencil holder -- beside tree stump

  This is a 4.5" pencil holder (or paper clip holder) showing Porky Pig standing with his hands clasped together behind his back, beside a hollowed-out tree stump.  The tree stump is the part where pencils or other desktop items may be stored for future use.  This item was manufactured during the 1940s by Moss Metal along with several other variations and other Looney Tunes character counterparts.  Porky is paler than most of the Moss Metals found, perhaps due to having been cleaned repeatedly by his previous owner.  He has scattered small spots of paint loss and, overall, is in EX- condition.

PORKY PIG bookends

  Among the rarest of the 1940s Looney Tunes Moss Metal pieces made are the sets of pot metal bookends that the company made.  This one shows Porky Pig standing beside halved tree trunks, with his hands clasped together behind his back.  These items are in EX+ condition, with no damage and just some scattered small spots of minor paint loss.

PORKY PIG pewter figure

  This is a 3.25" solid pewter figure of Porky Pig, who is shown waving with his upwardly-bent left hand while standing on an oval base.  He wears a jacket and a bowtie.  The figure is in mint condition.  It was manufactured in 1996 by Rawcliefe along with numerous other Looney Tunes pewter figures.

PORKY PIG toothpick holder

  This is a 3.75" glazed bisque toothpick holder showing Porky Pig with both arms raised, his right one touching the outer rim of a pale yellowish-green barrel with two blue stripes on it.  Porky has a gold bowtie and gold trim on his vest.  The item probably dates to the 1940s and there is no indication anywhere on the item as to who made it.  It is in near mint condition, with some wear on the gold trim being the item's only flaw.

PORKY PIG lamp

  This is a 6.25" solid chalk (or plastic) lamp showing Porky Pig standing on a green bricked area with his hands behind his back.  He wears a light blue jacket and an orange bowtie.  The lamp works just fine and probably dates to the 1940s.  It comes with a Petunia Pig counterpart and there is no indication on either piece as to who made them.  Porky is in near mint condition, with a few small paint chips being his only flaws.  So rare is this item that the one that I own is the only one I've ever seen in all of my travels!

PORKY PIG square metal bank

  This is a 3.75" silver metal bank showing Porky Pig against a bright pink backdrop, waving his blue-and-purple baseball cap with his raised left hand.  The bank probably was manufactured by Dakin sometime around 1970, and it was part of a larger set of square metal Looney Tunes character banks.  The bank has a retractable handle, near the coin slot, and requires the use of a small, specially-designed metal key in order to gain access to money inserted inside.  Porky is in near mint condition, with minor surface wear being his only flaw.

PORKY PIG silver bell

  This is a 2.75" silver bell showing Porky Pig waving with his right hand while holding his left arm behind his back.  He wears a jacket and a large bowtie.  The bell is in NM to NM+ condition, with minor tarnishing of the silver being its only flaw.  It was manufactured in 1987 by the New England Collector's Society as part of a large collection of Looney Tunes character silver bells.

PORKY PIG ceramic figurine

  This is a 5.75" ceramic figurine showing Porky Pig standing with his hands clasped together behind his back.  He wears a raspberry-colored jacket and a blue bowtie.  Although this item resembles the Shaw / American Pottery figurine, it was not manufactured by that company.  Instead, it bears a Leon Schlesinger copyright marking on the bottom of the right foot, and a $2.50 original price sticker from John W. Thomas and Company on the bottom of the left foot.  Porky is in NM+ condition and he dates to the early 1940s.

PORKY PIG hand puppet

  This is an 8.5" hand puppet of Porky Pig, who has a cloth body and a soft rubber head with plastic googly eyes.  Porky's body is red with cream-colored polka dots on it.  The puppet was manufactured in 1953 by Zany, along with several other Looney Tunes character hand puppets.  Porky's body has a few small holes and some staining, leaving the item in VG condition.

PORKY PIG vase

  This is a 5.25" vase (or pencil holder) of Porky Pig, who is shown standing with both arms behind his back.  He is pale green in color and is made of a heavy-duty ceramic-type material that many people call jadeite.  The item is in virtually perfect condition.  There is no indication anywhere on Porky as to who made him or when he was manufactured, although in all likelihood, he is a 1950s piece.

PORKY PIG ceramic figurine

  This bizarre Porky Pig figurine is 5" tall and made of ceramic.  He has hollow feet and may have been made as a home crafting project.  Porky looks upward and toward his left side, and holds both hands behind his back.  He wears a yellow bowtie, a blue shirt collar, and a light blue jacket.  He is in NM+ condition and probably dates to the 1940s, with no indication anywhere on the item as to who made it.

PORKY PIG bisque bank

  This is a 4.75" bisque bank of Porky Pig, who is shown standing with his hands behind his back as he looks off to his left side.  He wears an orange jacket and a yellow bowtie.  The bank's coin slot is located on the back of Porky's head, and the only way to remove money inserted into the bank would be to break Porky open.  He was manufactured in occupied Japan during the 1940s, and he is a licensed product.  This item has no damage and just a few small spots of minor paint loss (mostly in back), leaving Porky in NM- condition.

PORKY PIG plaster figure

  This is a 6.25" plaster (or carnival chalk) figure of Porky Pig, who is shown standing with his hands clasped together behind his back.  The figure is entirely beige in color with black accents on the interior of Porky's ears, his eyes, his snout, and his feet.  There is no indication anywhere on this item as to who made it or when it was manufactured, although in all likelihood, this is a 1950s piece.  It is undamaged and it has minimal paint loss, leaving Porky in near mint condition.

PORKY PIG plaster figures

  These three items are 7" tall solid plaster figures of Porky Pig, who is shown standing on a square base with his hands behind his back.  The one on the left has a blue jacket and a yellow base; the one in the middle has an orange jacket and a blue base; and the one on the right has a peach-colored jacket and a rust-colored base.  All three items are in NM to NM+ condition.  They were manufactured during the 1950s, no maker indicated on them, and they may have been carnival prizes at that time.

PORKY PIG pressed paper bank

  This is a 6.5" pressed paper bank showing Porky Pig standing with both hands on the sides of his belly as he looks upward and smiles sweetly.  The bank's coin slot is located on back of Porky's head and the bank has its original stopper on the underside of the round base on which Porky stands.  This item is mostly beige in color, with black accents on Porky's ears, eyebrows, and eyes, a red mouth, red nostrils, and a white bowtie.  There is no indication on this item as to who made it or when it was manufactured, although it is probably a 1950s piece.  Overall, this item is in G+ condition, downgraded as a result of peeling and crackling paint on the top of Porky's head and on his right side.

PORKY PIG bisque bell

  This is a 4.25" bisque bell showing Porky Pig sitting on a grassy area with his right arm behind his back and his left arm by his side, holding his blue-and-purple baseball cap.  He wears a purple bowtie and a blue jacket.  The bell is off-white with one purple, one blue, and one green stripe.  It is in mint condition.  Porky was manufactured in 1979 by Price as part of a 10-item Looney Tunes character bisque bell set.

  This is a 5" bisque figurine showing Porky Pig standing on a grassy area with one lavender and one rust-colored flower.  He holds his left arm behind his back and waves his blue-and-purple ballcap with his right hand.  He wears a purple bowtie and a blue jacket.  This item is in mint condition and it retains its original gold foil manufacturer's sticker.  Porky was manufactured in 1979 by Price as part of a 10-item Looney Tunes character bisque figurine set.

PORKY PIG Christmas ornament

  This is a 3" composition Christmas ornament showing Porky Pig standing with both arms bent akimbo on his hips as he smiles and looks off toward his left side.  Porky wears a blue baseball cap with a purple brim, a purple bowtie, and a blue jacket.  He is in NM+ condition and still retains his original gold lame hanging cord.  This ornament was manufactured in 1982 by Gorham as part of a larger collection of Looney Tunes character Christmas ornaments.

PORKY PIG snowdome

  This is a 2.75" plastic snowdome showing Porky Pig wearing a blue-and-yellow striped birthday hat, a blue jacket, and a red bowtie, as he holds a yellow-and-orange party horn in his right hand.  The white, block lettering caption on the front of his raspberry-colored base says Happy Birthday.  This item was manufactured in 1989 as part of a 6-item Looney Tunes character snowdome set.  It is in virtually perfect condition.

PORKY PIG squeak toy

  This is a 5.25" vinyl squeak toy showing Porky Pig wearing a blue shirt.  He is standing with both arms bent upward and sideways, in a perplexed pose.  The squeak toy is in mint condition and it has never been removed from its original packaging.  The cardboard header card has colorful graphics showing a horizontal red Looney Tunes banner and Tweety, Daffy Duck, Bugs Bunny, and Tasmanian Devil poking through it.  Porky was manufactured by Vo-Toys in 1995 as part of a large collection of Looney Tunes character dog toys.

PORKY PIG latex squeak toy

  This is a 3.5" latex squeak toy showing Porky Pig tugging the ends of his red bowtie.  He wears a blue jacket, a white shirt, and a grey vest as well.  When squeezed, this item gives off a gentle squeaking sound.  It is in mint condition and it comes with its original cardboard hang tag, which has colorful graphics showing a red horizontal Looney Tunes banner with Tweety, Daffy Duck, Bugs Bunny, and Tasmanian Devil poking through it.  Porky was manufactured in Spain, possibly by Lanco, in 1988.

PORKY PIG cookie jar

  This is a 10.5" ceramic cookie jar showing Porky Pig sitting in an armchair with a partly-eaten cookie in his right hand.  He wears a red baseball cap, a red jacket, and a yellow bowtie.  This item was manufactured in 1975 and was a do-it-yourself home craft kit that was purchased unpainted and unglazed.  The buyer could bring it home, paint it, and bring it to a ceramics shop to be fired/glazed.  Porky is in virtually perfect condition.

PORKY PIG expandable rolling toy

  This is a 3" plastic rolling toy showing Porky Pig driving a lime green truck with a yellow grill and red tires.  Behind him, a white ghost tries to spook him, and the signage on the truck says Porky's Ghost Catchers. This item is in mint, unused condition and it remains sealed inside of its original packaging.  Porky was manufactured in 1992 as part of a four-item set released by McDonald's fast food restaurants.  This item was named Porky Ghost Catcher and it was part of the Looney Tunes Quack-up Cars set.  The front grill can be pulled away from the remainder of the truck, thereby extending the length of the toy when it is played with.

PORKY PIG wall plaque

  This rare find is a 9.5x6.75" pressed paper wall plaque showing Porky Pig as a marching bandleader.  He wears a pink jacket, a blue bowtie, and a tall pink hat with a golden feather in it.  Porky holds a pink-and-golden baton in his forwardly-extended right arm.  This item has blue-rimmed scalloped edges.  It is a copyrighted item, but there is no indication anywhere on the plaque as to who made Porky.  Although undated, this piece probably dates to the early 1940s.  It is in EX to EX+ condition, with minor spots of wear "here and there" on the plaque.

PORKY PIG ceramic figurine

  This is a 2.75" ceramic figurine showing Porky Pig standing on a grassy area, looking over his right shoulder, and waving (or hailing a taxi) with his left hand.  He wears a light blue jacket and a red bowtie.  This item was manufactured in 1975 along with a Bugs Bunny counterpart.  Both items were paint-them-yourself crafts items, fully licensed, with no indication as to who made them.  Porky is in NM+ condition.

PORKY PIG wall plaque

  This beautiful item is a 10" three-dimensional ceramic wall mask of Porky Pig, who is shown from the chin upward.  He smiles nicely and has raspberry-colored accents on his ears, eyebrows, snout, cheeks, and mouth.  This item is in mint condition.  It was manufactured in 1986 by Bai-Dotta as part of a large collection of Looney Tunes character wall plaques, wall masks, and hat racks.

PORKY PIG wall mask

  This nifty item is an 8.5" three-dimensional ceramic wall mask of Porky Pig, who is shown from the neck upward.  He smiles sweetly and has one tan and one red ribbon attached to his temples.  The mask is in mint condition.  It was made in 1986 by Bai-Dotta as part of a large collection of Looney Tunes character wall masks, wall plaques, and hat racks.

PORKY PIG bedtime story sheet

  This is an 11x8.5" bedtime story sheet showing hunter Porky Pig waving his baseball cap in the upper left-hand corner.  This item was part of the original paperwork that was sent with the Looney Tunes cut-outs set released during the later 1950s or earlier 1960s.  The set consisted of 8 poster-sized pages of various Looney Tunes characters whose images were intended to be cut out and then mounted on walls for decoration.  I have the entire original set in my collection, uncut, and the entire original set of these story pages.  Porky's bedtime story page is in EX+ condition.  The entire set originally sold for $3.98, and that price included postage.

PORKY PIG pencil pack

  This is a 13" vinyl pencil pack featuring Porky Pig's smiling face and a blue bowtie.  The cylindrical tube contains 8 unused #2 pencils.  This item is in mint condition and it has never been opened.  It was manufactured by Novner Enterprises in 1974 along with four other Looney Tunes character pencil packs.

PORKY PIG gumball tube

  This is an 11.5" vinyl tube of gumballs with Porky Pig's smiling face and red bowtie on top.  The tube has never been opened and all of the gumballs remain inside of it.  Porky is in mint condition.  He was manufactured in 1989 by Superior as part of a four-character Looney Tunes gumball tube set.

PORKY PIG Christmas ornament

  This is a 3" PVC Christmas ornament showing Porky Pig as a saluting band master.  He wears a blue bandleader's hat with a yellow visor, a blue jacket with yellow epaulettes, blue pants, and black boots.  The ornament is in NM+ condition.  It was manufactured in 1989 as part of a promotional giveaway of Looney Tunes character Christmas ornaments that were distributed by Arby's fast food restaurants.

PORKY PIG PVC figure -- Duck Dodgers

  This is a 3.75" PVC figure showing Porky Pig as the eager young space cadet from the classic cartoon Duck Dodgers and the 24th and 1/2 Century.  He wears a light blue body suit with a yellow post on top, and holds a silver disintegrating ray gun in both hands, staring wistfully at the pile of ashes and red vest sitting in front of him.  The figure is in mint condition.  It was manufactured in 1996 by Applause as part of a set of Duck Dodgers-related figures.  Originally, Porky sold for $2.60 at Cliff's.

PORKY PIG inflatable toy

  I must confess that this Porky Pig inflatable item, along with its Sylvester counterpart, are among the favorite items I own . . . for reasons that I am wholly unable to explain or understand.  Porky is 9" tall and 10.5" long, and he is shown piloting a triangular spaceship that is blue, red, white, and flesh-colored.  The item is in virtually perfect condition.  Porky is a fully-licensed Warner Brothers product, although his copyright information does not indicate who made him or when he was manufactured.  My best guess is that this is a 1960s piece.

PORKY PIG soft vinyl doll

  This is a 7.75" soft stuffed vinyl doll showing Porky Pig standing and smiling, with his arms extended downward and sideways from his body.  He wears a red bowtie and a blue jacket.  This doll is in mint condition and it retains its original manufacturer's label.  Porky was manufactured by Ace Novelty in 1995 along with several other Looney Tunes character soft vinyl dolls.

PORKY PIG lamp

  The first few times I ran into this item and others from its original set, I thought they were tacky knock-off pieces.  Over time, however, I came to realize that this 10" Porky Pig lamp was an original piece that was an authorized Warner Brothers product.  It features the small Dakin Porky Pig blown-plastic figure standing amidst plastic shrubbery and yellow flowers on a carved wooden base.  The original lampshade is present, showing two lines of musical notes and several photographic images of the early 1970s Dakin banks.  This item was manufactured by Dakin sometime during the early or mid-1970s, and it is in near mint, working condition.

PORKY PIG rubber bank

  This is an 8" hard rubber bank showing Porky Pig standing with his right hand out as if asking for change while he smiles and looks off toward his right side.  He wears a red jacket, an oversized blue bowtie, and a blue-and-red baseball cap.  The bank's coin slot is located on the back of Porky's head, and his head would have to be removed in order to gain access to money placed inside.  This item was manufactured by Haco, probably for the European market.  It is a licensed Warner Brothers product and it probably dates to the 1960s.  Undamaged and with minor paint loss, Porky is in near mint condition.

PORKY PIG molded-face doll

  This beautiful item is a 15" stuffed cloth doll of Porky Pig, who has a molded face.  He wears an off-white felt farmer's hat, light blue denim overalls, red shoes, and a red-and-white striped shirt.  Porky has pie eyes and looks off toward his right.  The doll probably dates to the 1940s and may have been manufactured by M & H Novelty.  It is in EX to EX+ condition, with some moth holes in the hat and light discoloration of the cloth being its only flaws.

PORKY PIG holographic wristwatch

  This is a 9" red vinyl wristwatch showing a hologram of Tasmanian Devil as a baseball player who is eating a baseball bat on the watch's face.  This is actually the Porky Pig watch in Upper Deck's / Comic Ball Watches' 1990 Looney Tunes set.  The cardboard mounting card shows Porky Pig as a baseball player for the Atlanta Braves, poking through a red Looney Tunes tunnel as he tries to catch a ball.  The watch is in mint, unused condition.

PORKY PIG T-shirt

  This is a white one-size-fits-all T-shirt showing Porky Pig standing with his left arm behind his back and his right arm raised in a "ta da" pose.  Above him, in blue block lettering, the caption says That's All Folks!  This T-shirt is in mint condition and it retains its original manufacturer's label.  It was manufactured in 1987 as part of a set of Looney Tunes character shirts, but the copyright information does not indicate who made it.  Originally, Porky sold for $15.

PORKY PIG Dell comic #33

  This is Dell comic #33 in the Porky Pig series, originally released in March and April of 1954 at a cost of 10 cents.  The cover shows Porky Pig as a truck driver angrily peering out from inside of a green delivery truck while his nephew, Cicero, clad as an Indian, gets himself a fingerful of maple syrup from a barrel that he has just shot with an arrow.  This comic is in NM- condition, with minor cover wear being its only flaw.

PORKY PIG Dell comic #35

  This is Dell comic #35 in the Porky Pig series, originally released in July and August of 1954 at a cost of 10 cents.  The cover shows Porky Pig as an ice cream man who just scooped eight flavors of ice cream onto a cone that is being balanced by his nephew, Cicero, who stares at the towering cone as he licks his lips.  The comic is in EX condition, with edge wear on the cover and spine being its only real flaw.

PORKY PIG Dell comic #36

  This is Dell comic #36 in Dell's Porky Pig series, released in September and October of 1954 at a cost of 10 cents.  The cover shows Porky Pig playing a clarinet in front of a green box stage while, behind him, his nephew, Cicero, uses cymbals to try to kill a bumblebee that is about sting the clarinet-playing Porky.  This item is in EX to EX+ condition, with minor wear along the spine and on the cover being its only real flaw.

  This is Dell comic #56 in the Porky Pig series, originally sold in January and February of 1958 at a cost of 10 cents.  The cover shows Porky Pig grabbing his blue sombrero and running away in terror from a dark green cactus that is shaped like a bull.  The comic is in NM+ condition and all of its interior pages are intact and in nice condition.

PORKY PIG Dell comic #58

  This is Dell comic #58 in the Porky Pig series, originally released in May and June of 1958 at a cost of 10 cents.  The cover shows Petunia Pig planting flowers in her garden, using Porky's croquet hoops as the garden's perimeter.  Porky stands in front of her angrily, holding a croquet ball in his left hand and the mallet in his right hand.  This item is in NM to NM+ condition.
